Xin Tian received a B.A. in Environmental Science from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. She did the fast-track to Ph.D. in the University of Ottawa after one and half years of Master study. She is currently in her fourth year of her Ph.D. in Environment Engineering.
Research Interests
Xin Tian’s research interest lies in the biofilm technologies in wastewater treatment, not only relative to the water constituents but more deeply to the microbial communities. Her current research focuses on the anammox process in moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) system. Her other projects include performance optimization of the nitrifying bio-cord reactor and full-scale performance evaluation: hybrid biological aerated filter (BAF) and MBBR system.
